Sweepstakes Etiquette

When attending a sweepstakes sponsored event like a key turn, a pre party, there are a few mistakes one needs to avoid.  Try not to offend the sponsor. Afterall the sponsor is putting out good money and may choose not to sponsor a sweepstakes if they are offended.

  • Never brag about previous prizes (trips, cash, cars ect) in front of the sponsor representative.  You don't want to come off as a "professional sweeper", but as an ethusiastic customer. Instead speak highly of the sponsor's product.  Let them know you are appreciative of your win.
  • Never wear a T-shirt with a logo of the Sponsor's competitor at  a sweepstakes event.  For example don't wear a  Pepsi  shirt at a Coca-Cola event.
  • When decorating envelopes with stickers or drawings, don't use the Sponsors competitor sticker or designs . Again: Pepsi vs Coke.
